Leather is very popular because of its durability and beauty. It is the longest lasting fabric covering that has ever been used. When properly cared for, leather lasts 4 to 5 times longer than any other.
Refurbishing Saddles and Tack
First clean leather with Saddle Soap and allow it to dry for about 24 hours. Remember to keep it out of sunlight and heat for best results. Our brand of saddle soap far exceeds any other in the industry. Using the saddle soap will allow the oil treatment to penetrate into the leather better.
Next, apply coating of #1 Saddle Oil. If you need to sanitize your leather product; kill bacteria such as distemper or streptococcus equi, or if you have mold and mildew problems, use #1 Saddle Oil with Fungicides. Wait approximately 30 minutes and apply a second coat. The fungicides in this oil will help sanitize the leather and preserve the integrity of the leather. All new saddles should be treated under the saddle jockey and fenders to make sure the interior fibers have proper protection.
Lastly, apply a coating of Bee Natural’s Leather Finish. This combination makes the leather look its best and will protect it.
For maintenance through the year, Rudy’s is a wonderful product to use. It will not only clean and condition but it also retards mold and mildew and will buff to a soft shine
